A 40-plus lot consignment of Who memorabilia from a single source will feature in an 800-lot sale of film, TV and music memorabilia at East Bristol Auctions on January 31.
Among the entries is an early game “often touted as the rarest Doctor Who board game”, said the auction house.
Originally released by Codeg in 1965 the game is called Dr Who – Dodge the Daleks and was one of only a handful of Who toys available at the time. Comprising a coloured playing board with four plastic counters, it carries an estimate of £250-400 and comes in its original box.
On the same day, auction house Bamfords will offer a clutch of Who memorabilia in Derby, including a full-size gold Dalek estimated at £2000-3000. Built in sections, it can be operated from a mobility scooter inside, or independently via remote control.
The auction house has form in this field; in 2016, it sold a 1966 Dalek for £38,000. It was one of three given away by Sugar Puffs in a competition to tie in with the release of the film Daleks – Invasion Earth: 2150AD.
