This will run on the south coast at the Deco masterpiece of the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill on Saturday and Sunday, January 27-28.

Style 1900’s Bill Jones, an Arts & Crafts and Deco dealer and an organiser of the event, said: “There are only four known of these Cooper wall masks, with one being bought in 1996 by the National Portrait Gallery.”

This example believed to have been made in 1931 and “now with museum-finish restoration but a fabulous example of really good Deco”, will be with Daryl Goodwin at the fair, priced £3000.

Walton chair

One of the items on offer from Jones himself at the fair is a c.1905 Arts & Crafts re-rushed two-seater ash chair. It is by the designer and architect George Walton, made by Arts & Crafts furniture maker William Birch of High Wycombe, major suppliers to Liberty & Co in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

It is priced at £3950.

A fully-restored Art Deco dining suite attributed to one of the greats in 20th century furniture manufacturing, the Hille Furniture Company, c.1935, is available from the Design Gallery at the fair for £11,500.

Gallery owner Chrissie Masters said: “It is rare to find original Art Deco extending tables to seat eight. The suite consists of an extending eight-seater dining table with six geometric dining chairs and two carver chairs in a related design, with both straight-grain and figured walnut veneers.”

Jones added: “We have three new exhibitors at the fair, including Anna Haylock from Kent with Art Deco smalls and East Sussex-based Jackie and David Rutland, who sell and restore vintage French clocks.”
