This c.1760 silver sauce boat pictured above took a five-times estimate £5200 at Thomson Roddick (20% buyer’s premium) of Dumfries on December 9.
The 12oz boat, catalogued as by Jean Henry of Guernsey, went to a local buyer. Several Channel Islanders who had registered as online bidders provided the opposition.
