An early original cartoon ink drawing by Ronald ‘Carl’ Giles (1916-95) is estimated at £400-600 in Special Auction Services’ sale on January 4 in Newbury, Berkshire.

Dating from the 1950s, the 8 x 19in (21 x 48cm) work is captioned I want to go home and features a line of figures admiring the New York waterfront, except for a grumpy-looking boy.

The drawing is being offered together with a group of 12 ‘Stackup’ Kipling cartoons on card by author and cartoonist Alan Bailey (1928-2002).
