The flagship events are held in May and November at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull, West Midlands, but “the glass fair at Knebworth House in February is the fair nearest to London and continues to serve East Anglia which is the area we started in”, said Bishop.

(The Cambridge Glass Fair was launched in 2002 by Bishop and glass collector Graham Cooley at the Chilford Vineyard near Cambridge.)

These fairs are traditionally a mix of specialist dealers selling antique and contemporary glass, with the next at Knebworth House on Sunday, February 25.

Bishop added: “Most of the glass collectors in the UK will visit our fairs at some time and it’s an opportunity for them to get together and talk about glass – as it is for the dealers at the fair.

“As well as buying and selling glass it is a platform for contemporary artists to show their work and receive direct feedback from a knowledgeable public.”
