This ‘Brocante Saturday’ has been such a success with dealers and buyers that the Buttons went on the hunt for a bigger venue at which to hold an annual event.

Kate said: “We looked at several local sites but Glemham Hall was tops. It’s in a spectacular setting very visible from the A12 and just nine miles from Aldeburgh. We chose Sunday, May 20, as the launch date as it doesn’t appear to clash with anything major nearby.

“As the Halesworth Brocante is now well-known we will stick with the brocante name and so the new fair will be called the Grand Brocante at Glemhall Hall.

“We have around 80 brocanteurs booked and hope this will become an annual event.”

The Buttons have also been asked to take over the running of the annual Bungay Antiques Street Market, now in its 22nd year, which will run this year on Sunday, July 22, with a change of name from ‘market’ to ‘fair’.
