The cover girl in the latter category, by the way, was a fully restored 1944 Opel version of the Daimler Benz half-track lorry which posed for its pre-sale glamour shots by climbing effortlessly up steep embankments as if it was in the first flush of youth.
It lived up to its billing, topping the November sale with €310,000 (£258,335).
