This is the annual Modern Movement Festival which runs next on Saturday and Sunday, May 5-6, at the lido in Brockwell Park, south London. Dealers will be offering mid-century furniture, textiles, lighting, rugs and homewares.
Suburban beach life
Launched 10 years ago by Moses Otunia, who owns a mid-century furniture shop in nearby Dulwich, dealers at this year’s festival include Retro Barn, Dad Design, GP Lights & More and Da Silva Interiors.
Opened in 1937 and built by the London County Council in the Art Deco style, the now Grade II-listed lido extolled the virtues of ‘continental beach life’ in south London.
