Paintings by the prolific artist, who died at the age of 46, are regulars on the secondary market, often commanding sums in excess of £10,000.
This 17in x 2ft (44 x 60cm) framed oil on board titled The Broken Pram appeared in a fine art sale at Kingham & Orme’s (20% buyer’s premium) new premises in Evesham on March 16.
Signed and dated ‘77’, it came from a private house in Lancashire and depicts Braaq himself wearing a distinctive striped shirt in the forefront. Entered with an estimate of £8000-10,000, it was knocked down to a local Braaq collector at £13,000.
