The show, from April 17-24 in its gallery in Southampton Row, Bloomsbury, is being held ahead of a dedicated RAF section in the April 25-26 Orders, Decorations and Medals sale. Items on display include Flight Lieutenant William Reid’s Victoria Cross, awarded for his role as a pilot in Bomber Command in 1943.

The RAF was founded on April 1, 1918, when the Royal Flying Corps and the Royal Naval Air Service was merged.
