A toys and collectors’ auction at Hartleys in Ilkley on April 21 will feature a bisque head doll made in c.1870 by French maker Jumeau.
The 15in (38cm) high doll, stamped with the maker’s name, wears a burgundy silk dress and under garments, both possibly thought to be original.
It also has brown glass fixed almond shaped eyes, a blonde mohair wig and pierced ears.

A tribal entry to Duke’s of Dorchester’s sale on April 12 is this wooden Maori canoe bailer from New Zealand shown above.
The 17 x 11in (44 x 28cm) piece, dated as 19th century or earlier, is carved with an abstract face and a double link design to the curved handle.
The distinctive Maori bailers were carved using a single piece of wood to make a large hollowed scoop with a forward projecting handle. The bailing action was sometimes accompanied by an invocatory chant called a karakia tata.

Around half a dozen Georgian whale bone walking sticks will feature in a sale on April 21 at Suffolk auction house Bishop & Miller.
A George III example is made from baleen whalebone and abalone shell. The arched top is carved as a lady’s leg, wearing a boot with a petticoat frill to the top and a diamond inlaid in the abalone shell.

An English man o’ war, boxers, Britannia and a British heraldic crest are among the carvings found on this early 19th century silver-mounted stemmed coconut cup.
It forms part of the principal contents of North Mymms Park in Hertfordshire going under the hammer at Essex saleroom Sworders in a 650-lot two-day sale on April 17-18.
Estimated at £700-1000, the 7in (18cm) high silver-rimmed cup bears the maker’s mark MT possibly for Mehat and Turton, London 1807.
