Maastricht dealer Guus Röell will hold an exhibition titled ‘From Distant Shores’ at Daniel Crouch Rare Books (see number 34 on the street map). This Japanese figure of a Buddhist monk from the Kamakura or Muromachi period (1185-1573) is priced at €19,000. It is fashioned from hollow blocks of cedar wood joined together with pegs (the yosegi zukuri technique).
