For the duration of the winter months, Swallow Fairs is moving its monthly Monday antiques market held at Donington Park, near Derby, to the Stoneleigh exhibition and conference centre.

The first drive-in indoor Stoneleigh Antiques Market will run in the park’s Blackdown Building on Monday, October 16 operating to the same hours as Donington: 7.30- 9am for the trade and 9am-1pm for the public.

Swallow Fairs’ director, Richard Burgoin, said: “We are very excited to be launching a new indoor, drive-in format event at the centrally located Stoneleigh Park, a venue perfect for exhibitors who like the convenience of outdoor stalls with all the benefits of an undercover facility. The announcement of this new event has been received warmly and we plan to run winter events at Stoneleigh for many years to come.”

A change of ownership at Donington Park encouraged the move. At the start of 2017, Donington – the first permanent motor racing circuit in the UK – was taken over by Motor Sport Vision and the exhibition hall on site put out to permanent lease.

The organisers moved the popular market, which has been running for 10 years on site, to the Launch Pad building and the extensive outdoor area, perfect for summer trading but not for colder climes.
