Dirck Van Baburen’s painting of a violin player holding a wine glass being offered at Koller.
The 2ft 6in x 2ft 2in (80 x 67cm) oil on canvas from 1623 has been consigned from a private collection and will be offered at Koller’s September 22 auction of Old Masters and 19th century paintings.
It is estimated at SFr60,000-80,000.
Van Baburen one of the group of 17th century Dutch artists known as the Utrecht Caravaggisti because they drew their inspiration from the dramatic style of the 16th century Italian master Caravaggio.
