A pair of Italian-made, Ivo Fabbri 12-bore single trigger over-and-under pigeon guns will be offered at Holts on September 21, guided at £35,000-45,000.
They are engraved by Torcoli with scenes depicting the Villa Almerico Capra Valmarana, a Renaissance villa just outside Vicenza in northern Italy designed by Andrea Paladio in 1565 and modelled on the Pantheon in Rome. It is now known as the Villa La Rotonda.
Signed Torcoli inc on the triggerplates, the triggerguard on the guns is engraved with the classical style statues that adorn the building, while the 2ft 4in (71cm) nitro chopperlump barrels are engraved Ivo Fabbri – Brescia.
They come in a lightweight leather case with the Ivo Fabbri parchment trade label.
