This pair of George III silver and silver gilt goblets will go under the hammer at Catherine Southon’s sale in Selsdon, Surrey, on November 1. Made by silversmiths John Emes and William Fountain and hallmarked London 1800 and 1802, the 7in (18cm) high goblets are chased with a leaf decorated border and an engraved cartouche with A token of friendship on one and Thomas Stead Carter to the other.

Estimate £1200-1800.

A saddled bay hunter by the name of Query features in this painting by animal painter Frances Mabel Hollams (1877-1963).

The 14½ x 20in (37 x 51cm) oil on panel dates from 1949 and has been consigned to Lawrences of Crewkerne’s sale in Somerset on November 17.
