The abstract artist amassed a vast collection of art and antiques from an array of countries and periods in his home in Bloomsbury where he lived for 30 years.

This bust of King George II by Michael Rysbrack (1694-1770) features among the sculptural highlights. Dating to c.1739, it follows a terracotta model taken from life and dated 1738 in the Royal Collection at Kensington Palace.

The 2ft 1in (64cm) high piece may also be the missing companion to a marble bust of Queen Caroline by Rysbrack, which is housed in the Wallace Collection in London.

Estimate £80,000-120,000.
