This stoneware bowl by Dame Lucie Rie sold for £23,000 at Michael J Bowman on September 23.
Monogrammed to the underside and with radiating incised lines to interior and exterior, the 10in diameter x 4¼in high (25 x 11cm) bowl featured on the catalogue front cover.
Six phone bidders competed for the bowl, which went to one of them, a British collector, at £23,000.
