Estimated at £8000-10,000, this early 20th century dressing table is one of the star lots in the Charterhouse two-day auction on November 16-17 in Sherborne, Dorset.

Made by George Betjemann & Sons, the piece came from a mid-20th century Dorchester town house. It has an inlaid mahogany cabinet that folds out to reveal an interior fitted with cut glass jars and bottles, and has retained its original gilt brass fittings and glass shades.
