Antiques at the Holt is the biannual fair held at the Holt Hotel in the village of Steeple Aston, near Oxford.

Organiser and dealer Marcus Potts said: “This is a predominantly ‘traditional’ antiques and collectors’ fair, and while one or two of our dealers do dabble in ‘vintage’ or ‘retro’, they all balance this with genuine antiques.”

Visitors to the fair at the lavishly refurbished hotel on Saturday and Sunday, November 25-26, can expect to find silver, porcelain, paintings and prints, postcards, furniture, glass, jewellery, maps, bronzes and figurines, pottery and ceramics, books, clocks, brass and metalwares, boxes and treen, plus all sorts of curiosities and collectables.

Exhibitors include Art Deco dealer Mark Ditchburn with bronzes, while Sheena Davies will offer a big selection of boxes, writing slopes and sewing sets, and porcelain dealer Dittany Morgan is bringing a c.1780 Caughley cup and saucer in the Island pattern, priced at £325 and ex the Noel Howard Collection.

The four multi-coloured cut lead crystal wine glasses shown above are with dealer Graham Puddephatt at £295 for the four.

He believes them to be Bohemian and those shown are among the earliest of these glasses which he has in stock and which he will be bringing to Antiques at the Holt. Dating from the late 19th century to the early 1950s, they vary in style and prices start at £75 for a set of six.
