Special Auction Services has appointed Jessica Forrester as auctioneer and auction manager. She was formerly auctioneer and valuer at Richard Winterton Auctioneers in Staffordshire in charge of the quarterly Country House and Decorative Art sales.
David Parker.
David Parker has been appointed a director of The Canterbury Auction Galleries.
Previously its general manager, Parker joined the company in 2011, having been the owner of The Rochester Armoury, and a collector and dealer in all forms of weaponry and militaria, both antique and modern, for 45 years.
Jonathan Burford.
Heritage Auctions has hired Jonathan Burford as timepiece consignment director for the Beverly Hills office in California.
Most recently, Burford lived in London while working for Privatus, a private sales and advisory company focused on rare collectables, as head of watches and fine timepieces.
Catherine Payling
Quinn’s Auction Galleries in Falls Church, Virginia, has appointed Catherine Payling MBE as director of Waverly Rare Books, a Quinn’s subsidiary.
Payling’s 25-year career includes executive positions at London’s Royal Opera House, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the National Maritime Museum. She was also head of the Keats House Museum in Rome.
