The signed Gallé vase decorated with grasshoppers is estimated at €40,000-50,000 in the May 4 sale held by Tessier Sarrou & Associés at Drouot.
The signed vase, which stands just over 3in (8.5cm) high, is decorated with grasshoppers in a variety of techniques including acid etching, relief engraving and layering. It dates from c.1884 and carries an estimate of €40,000-50,000.
