The palmwood veneered console table, of curvilinear outline, measuring 7ft 2in (2.2m) wide, was stamped EP on a small circular disc and eclipsed its €80,000-120,000 estimate to sell for €380,000 (£327,585).
The console had passed down by descent from a private collection and was part of a commission from Printz and fellow deco designer Jean Dunand. Two years ago, Tajan sold a lacquer panel by Dunand decorated with a horse-taming scene from the same source for a premium-inclusive €217,700.
