Hatch, who is best known for her landscapes, was inspired by her work as artist in residence at Pavilion Dance in Bournemouth and as a member of artists’ collective Safehouse – Poole.

The exhibition at the Petworth gallery includes Riot, a gouache, collage, graphite and charcoal on tinted paper, which is available for £550. The show, from July 12-29, coincides with the 29th edition of the Petworth Festival.

Stewart Collins, the festival’s artistic director, says that inclusion of the event in the programme “couldn’t be more suitable given its focus on dance. Frances’ work so wonderfully catches a dancer’s movement and beauty”.

Prices range from £450-950.
