I can assure him I know that dealers “do not have to give a 40% or 65% discount on a piece” as I am an antiques dealer myself and cannot think when I have ever said otherwise.
I would also add that while no collector of my acquaintance has ever tried to elicit such a massive discount from me, I feel sure if they did try to, no one would ever find the body.
