That time has come round again, although this year the ski posters will be a section within CSK’s multi-discipline Interiors auction rather than a stand-alone catalogue. Billed as Interiors including the Ski Sale, it takes place on January 11.
The ski section will feature around 100 lots and the key resorts and favourite designers will be represented: Gstaad, Davos, Zermatt, Chamonix, St Moritz et al are depicted in stylish designs by the likes of Alex Diggelmann; Francisco Tamagno, Roger Broders and Emil Cardinaux.
Diggelmann’s Gstaad (a design sold last year for a record £76,900 including premium) will be represented here, for example, by a large format version guided at £20,000-30,000.
Pictured above is a poster for another Swiss resort, Villars, a 1934 design by Johannes Handschin on a 3ft 4in x 2ft 1in (1m x 64cm) poster, which is estimated at £5000-7000.
