RTS Antiques brings together Damon Revans-Turner, 48, proprietor of Liverpool Antiques & Collectables, and Alan Sturrock, 63, a retired Cheshire lawyer and keen collector of Staffordshire since his teenage years.

His specialism is the so-called ‘Alpha’ factory which produced figures from the beginning of Queen Victoria’s reign to around the time of The Great Exhibition.

RTS will trade online with a stock of 350-plus figures, a mixture of the rare and desirable where prices rise into the thousands and the many affordable flatback figures that can be bought for under £100.

“Staffordshire is so much more affordable these days compared to the heady days of the 1980s and ’90s and in terms of investment there has never been a better time to start collecting,” says Sturrock.

The duo are particularly proud of an online ‘shop’ that displays each piece in the round. Damon says: “We have taken thousands of photographs to enable potential buyers to ‘handle’ an item on a computer screen and manipulate it in 360 degrees. We have had great feedback on this viewing facility.”
