A 1939 Alvis 4.3 litre Sports Tourer to be offered in Holloway’s Vintage and Classic Motor Cars and Automobilia sale in Banbury.
Pictured here is a 1939 Alvis 4.3 litre Sports Tourer to be offered in Holloway’s Vintage and Classic Motor Cars and Automobilia sale in Banbury on February 18. It comes in a duo-tone black over red paintwork, black leather upholstery and replica Vanden Plas coachwork.
This model was only in production for a relatively short time, constructed in batches amounting to some 160 in total, of which only 17 were tourers with the bulk saloons.
Old Alvis archives record that the car was registered in February 1939 and was supplied to Brooklands Motor Co of Bond Street, where it was sold to its first owner, a Mr B McK Wraith McGowan.
