The relics are now in the collections of the Priest’s House Museum in the Dorset town, where the display runs until February 28 with collaboration from the Arts University Bournemouth.

This considers the tradition of sending Valentine’s cards and explores how love messages have taken a variety of forms – from the charming and romantic to the satirical, insulting and outrageous.
