The octagonal dial by the Augsburg watchmaker Johann Willebrand (1658-1726) is made of silvered and gilt metal and is engraved with the signs of the zodiac, the months of the year and other scales as well as featuring a compass set beneath a (replaced) glass cover. The dial is engraved Johann Willebrand Augspurg 48.
