He is a regular customer at the Hungerford Arcade in the Berkshire town, where this picture of him was taken with Rita Kibble, a dealer at the centre. This will be added to her hall of fame which includes Mary Berry of Bake Off fame and survivalist Bear Grylls. Kibble said of Snow’s collecting tastes: “He likes antique copper and brass jugs, small ceramic dishes and, in particular, large vintage cups and saucers.”

Snow joined ITN in 1976 and was the station’s Washington correspondent from 1983-86. Since then he has been at the forefront of the world’s news events: from the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, the release in 1990 of Nelson Mandela after 27 years in prison and both Barack Obama and Donald Trump’s US presidential inaugurations.
