The ring, consigned by a lady in East Devon, had been purchased by her father from a jeweller in Stratford in the late 1960s.
Many salerooms conducted auctions a month or so before Christmas in the hope of attracting gift buyers. The timing paid off handsomely for the vendor of this Art Deco diamond ring consigned to Plymouth Auction Rooms on November 30.
