On January 31 Beaussant Lefèvre is offering around 30 pieces from the collection formed by Jean-Pierre Guerlain (of perfumier fame) and his wife Christiane, which has passed down by direct descent.

They have notable provenance to collections that were assembled in the 19th-20th centuries and include numerous early works from some of the best-known centres for the creation of tin-glazed earthernwares: Deruta Casteldurante, Faenza and Urbino in Italy and Nevers and Montpelier in France.

Pictured above right is one of the highlights, a 9in (24cm) diameter 16th century footed dish ascribed to Casteldurante-Urbino, decorated with a bust portrait of a young beauty, which is guided at €20,000-30,000.
