Pieces from the Milanese apartment, Casa Lucano, will be auctioned by Phillips at their Berkeley Square rooms (in association with the Italian auction house Cambi) in a sale titled Casa di Fantasia. The viewing takes place at Phillips from March 16-21.
They have come direct from the apartment and it is their first time on the auction market. On offer will be items of furniture, decorative ceramics, lighting, even doors and door handles.
Many of the highly distinctive pieces were designed by Ponti himself, while others are collaborations with fellow designers and craftsmen such as Piero Fornasetti and Edina Altara.

Study and dressing room pieces
Elements from the study and dressing room of the Casa Lucano comprising wall panels, six doors internal windows, wall lights and a radiator cover. Designed by Gio Ponti, Piero Fornasetti, Edina Altara and Guido Gambone, it was executed by Giordano Chiesa of Milan.
The design features many different techniques including painted- burr-veneered and transfer-printed wood and painted and reverse mirror-painted glass. To be offered by Phillips on March 21, estimate £80,000-120,000.
Wall mounted cabinet
An illuminated Positivo-negativo wall mounted cabinet containing two earthenware tower and king statuettes.
The rosewood-veneered and brass cabinet was executed by Giordano Chiesa and the statuettes produced by Gabbianelli of Milan, and it is estimated at £40,000-60,000 at Phillips.
Door and window furniture
A set of Ponti-designed door and window furniture, comprising 31 handles in brass and nickel-plated brass which is estimated at £8000-12,000.
Chest of drawers
A chest of drawers in burr walnut veneer and mirrored verre eglomisé, a collaboration by Gio Ponti and Edina Altara, executed by Giordano Chiesa of Milan will also be offered by Phillips, estimated at £45,000-65,000.
