Hansons Auctioneers has confirmed it has bought Grade II* listed Bishton Hall at Wolseley Bridge in Staffordshire.
The Derbyshire auction firm has been holding regular sales at the mansion since autumn last year when it sold the contents of the former occupier St Bede’s Prep School following its closure.
The house dates back to c.1750 and was bought by the Stafford Northcote family in 1946 to house the school.
Hansons’ main saleroom is in Etwall, Derbyshire. It also operates a London venue, launched in January 2018, at The Normansfield Theatre in Teddington.
