The Fourth Antique Arms Fair incorporating the Park Lane Arms Fair takes place at Olympia London in the Pillar Hall on Saturday, March 2.

This event, originally launched by specialist Thomas Del Mar in September 2017, now involves another key London collecting event, the long-running Park Lane fair, and this staging marks the first running of the fresh set-up.

It features more than 50 exhibitors. Along with a number of well-known UK arms, armour, militaria, tribal and Asian works of art dealers such as Runjeet Singh, Peter Finer and West Street Antiques, those from further afield include Morion Antiques from Finland, Galerie Mestdagh from Brussels, The Irish Grenadier from County Down, and the organisers are “particularly pleased to welcome Alexander Biesbroek of Alexander Ancient Art from the Netherlands who is exhibiting for the first time at Pillar Hall”.

The fair continues to support the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust with a percentage of the ticket sales supporting the charity.

Del Mar says: "We are delighted to have combined the two fairs and hope that it will benefit both exhibitors and visitors to the event. It is planned to be the first of a number of fairs under our joint supervision and direction. We are very pleased to welcome all our exhibitors and appreciate the considerable efforts that have been gone to in bringing some outstanding objects to the fair. We hope that there will be something of interest for everyone who is able to attend.”

He adds: “The enlarged guide continues the long-standing tradition of the Park Lane fair in a universally recognised publication which is acknowledged as an important contribution to the subject of antique arms and armour. We are very grateful to the authors for their continued commitment and dedication.’

The guide includes articles by Clive Thomas, Neil Melville, Brian Godwin, Herbert G Houze and Leslie Southwick.

The fair runs from 9am-3pm.

Olympia launch

Del Mar’s 25 Blythe Road saleroom ‘collective’ next to Olympia has also been given a makeover recently. It is now united under the same umbrella title of Olympia Auctions.
