Working with the council, local traders have tasked jewellery and collectables dealer Chris Fuller to organise a Sunday market on the city centre street.
It will run weekly from May 19 between 10am-3pm. The first four weeks are free for stall holders with an expectation that a £20 a day charge will be made in future weeks.
Fuller said: “The area needs help and this will hopefully give it a much-needed boost.”
Around eight dealers have signed up selling pictures, antiques, collectables and vintage and Fuller hopes to have 15 by opening day.
