Buxton - Halcyon Fair

Next weekend (October 27-28) marks the long-awaited relaunch of Halcyon Fairs’ antiques event at the restored Victorian Octagon ballroom in Buxton’s Pavilion Gardens. Its Grade II-listed venue has not been in use since 2015 due to major repair works. It features 100 stands offering decorative items, antiques, collectables and vintage fashion.

Stafford – IACF Bingley Hall Antiques & Collectors Fair

The next edition of IACF’s new Stafford event takes place from October 19-21. Located in the centre of Staffordshire County Showground, the indoor event offers shoppers a chance to a wide variety of objects under shelter from any unpredictable autumn weather. It is the second staging of the event since IACF acquired it earlier this year.

Derby - Bamfords’ Three Day Fine Art and Antiques Sale

A set of 12 mountain studies with cattle and sheep by Sidney Richard Percy (1822-86), one of them signed with initials, are included in Bamfords’ Three Day Fine Art and Antiques sale (October 24-26). Percy was a Victorian landscape painter whose most celebrated works featured grazing animals against distant landscapes. The set has an estimate of £6000-10,000.  

Lichfield - Richard Winterton

On October 22, Richard Winterton Auctioneers offers a Mead LX200GPS telescope on stand along with a number of eyepieces, controllers and navigation displays, which it estimates at £1200-1500. It is part of the auction house’s technology sale where vintage cameras, a selection of LPs and a mixing desk are also on offer.

Etwall - Hansons sporting guns sale  

A taxidermy honey badger mounted on a naturalistic timber base, estimated at £200-250, is among the lots at the Hansons auction on October 25. It focuses on sporting guns, country pursuits and fishing as well as wine and whisky.
