The award was launched in 2016 and is sponsored by fine art insurance brokers Hallett Independent.

The shortlist for the 2018 Hallett Independent Acquisitions Award comprises:

  • Imperial Health Charity in London
  • The Hunterian at the University of Glasgow
  • The Russell-Cotes Museum in Bournemouth
  • Graves Gallery, part of Museums Sheffield
  • The Ben Uri Gallery in London

The shortlist was selected by a judging panel chaired by the president of the Royal Academy, Christopher Le Brun. The judges were Sam Phillips, editor of the RA Magazine; Helen Rosslyn, director of LOPF; and Clare Pardy, director of museum and heritage services at Hallett Independent.

Pardy said: “We want to help these institutions to thrive. Our collaboration with the London Original Print Fair enables us to demonstrate our support in a tangible way and we are of course thrilled that the award continues to attract applications of such quality.”

The winner will be announced at the preview of the fair at 5.30pm on May 2.
