A fitting inclusion to The Christmas Sale at Cotswold Auction Company in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire is this festive work by Victorian painter John Seymour Lucas (1849-1923), who specialised in painting scenes from English history.

An Eric Ravilious for Wedgwood bowl estimated at £800-850 at Hansons.

This Eric Ravilious for Wedgwood rare Queensware bowl will be offered at Hansons Auctioneers. Made in c.1938, the design on the bowl is known as The Boat Race. It is printed in under-glaze black and painted over glaze in coloured enamels, with scenes from three stages of the boat race and a mermaid. The inside centre has an oval view of Piccadilly Circus on boat race night.
