James Kelly joins Bonhams’ board

Meanwhile, Bonhams has also announced the appointment of James Kelly as a non-executive director of the company’s main board.

A commercial and strategic consultant to businesses in the art world, he spent more than 20 years as a partner at the chartered accountants Rawlinson & Hunter, where Bonhams was one of his clients.

More recently he was director of Science Limited where he managed the business affairs of Damien Hirst, playing a key role in the creation of Hirst’s gallery in Newport Street and the artist’s Treasures exhibition that opened at last year’s Venice Biennale.

He retired from full-time employment with Science before the appointment to the Bonhams’ board.
