The Hans and Gertrud Mueller collection was assembled over a 60 year period.

Hans emigrated to Australia after fleeing Austria and spending the war years as a refugee in Shanghai, joining his wife Gertrud who had already migrated to the country. Opening his first store in 1948, he went on to establish a successful menswear retail empire.

The collection features vases and other vessels that demonstrate Lalique’s rich variety of different decorating techniques, with examples in coloured, clear, frosted, opalescent and stained glass.

A number of designs, such as Esterel, Ronces and Perruches, are offered in different colour variations.

Among the highlights will be this 10in (26cm) high Oran vase in frosted and clear amber glass, a design of 1927 which is estimated at Aus$30,000-40,000.

The auction will take place on March 21.
