ArtCircle was founded by entrepreneur and former lawyer Natasha Chagoubatova, Sotheby’s graduate Elena Sereda and German gallerist Volker Diehl. The three plan to stage major selling exhibitions around the world which feature both established artists and leading curators.

Chagoubatova says: “Until now, pop-up exhibitions have largely been focused on young and emerging artists. Our intention is to revolutionise this format and present the type of shows that you might encounter in blue-chip art galleries or major museums.”

Launch exhibition

The first exhibition, Focusing Room, takes place in London in a rented space in Albemarle Street. It features conceptual works created in the 1960s and ‘70s by artists of the Zero movement and was curated by German art historian Bettina Ruhrberg.

Since the opening on May 19, Chagoubatova says, most of the works have sold. The exhibition continues until June 9.

The next two exhibitions will also take place in London, the next opening in October to coincide with Frieze Week.
