The Kairos Collective aims to be the first furniture-focused marketplace to offer payment by monthly instalments. The scheme, which is scheduled to go live on the site in November, means that payment will go to dealers in full and upfront. Card holder’s unused credit line will be optimised as security for the instalment plan.
More than 40 dealers are trading from the sight so far including 3details, Ed Butcher and James McWhirter Antiques. Other emerging and established dealers and designers from the UK are to be added gradually.
“A key part of The Kairos Collective’s vision is to make high-quality design accessible to a wider audience,” says founder Tanya Southworth.
As well as offering primary- and secondary-market pieces, there are plans for the site to partner with prominent designers and artists to produce limited edition pieces available exclusively through the site. Forthcoming ‘Kairos Editions’ include designs by Campbell Rey and Joanna Plant.
