The new event, held in Kensington Town Hall, effectively replaces Little Chelsea, which has run for 38 years.

“Little Chelsea is very popular and has a good following,” Cotton tells ATG. “But times change and it’s important to adapt and change. Decorative is really the buzzword these days.”

The new fair will host up to 110 exhibitors, double the amount of dealers that could fit into Chelsea Town Hall. It will run twice a year in March and October and Cotton hopes that it will offer an affordable opportunity for traditional antiques dealers and decorative dealers alike.

“A few decorative dealers had talked to me about doing something like this and it seemed that it was the way to go forward – combining our existing popularity and expanding the offering,” Cotton adds.

The first edition of the fair runs from March 5-8. The final Little Chelsea fair takes place in October.
