The fair, which is timed to coincide with one of Hong Kong’s main auction series, offers a mix of Western and Eastern works of art from an international roster of over 90 dealers.

Among the 20-plus new names this year are Carlton Rochell Asian Art from New York; Rare by Oulton from Hong Kong offering distinctive European Antiques and Runjeet Singh from the UK bringing Asian Arms and Armour.

Vanderven Oriental Art from the Netherlands will be taking this striking 17in (42cm) high Qing dynasty, Tonghzi period, figure of a standing deer to ‘Fine Art Asia’. It formerly belonged to Alphonse de Rothschild (1827-1905) and afterwards was in private collections in Italy and France. It is priced in the region of HK$5m.

Silver dealers Koopman Rare Art, London, will be showing this 9in (23cm) high Chinese export silver canister at ‘Fine Art Asia’. The canister is decorated with panels featuring blossoming trees; figure groups, dragons, bamboo and chrysanthemum and features grotesque winged mask carrying handles. Dating from c. 1835, it bears the retailer’s mark of Cum Shing of Old China Street, Canton c.1775-1840. It has a price in the region of £25,000.

This late 19th century carved and painted wood model of the Royal coat of arms of the United Kingdom will be shown by new exhibitor Rare by Oulton from Hong Kong at Fine Art Asia. The large carving measures 3ft 7in (1.1m) high and 4ft 1in ( 1.25m) wide and would have been commissioned by a major retailer to feature at the entrance of their premises. It is priced at HK$258,000.
