Five years after the founding of the business, insolvency proceedings began at Auctionata in January, with the firm closing in March after attempts to find new investment failed to materialise. Subsidiaries Paddle8 in the US and ValueMyStuff in the UK have been sold and continue to operate.

The auctions in Cologne will take place from June 28-30 and comprise more than 1500 lots across six auctions. Works including pictures, sculpture, porcelain and wine will feature along with a focus on 600 lots of post-war prints.

In May, Berlin auction house Historia Auktionshaus announced it had acquired the website and the Auctionata trademark.
