Fourteen students entered Clay College in Stoke when it opened its doors in September. The programme offers a full-time, skills-based ceramics course designed to nurture the next generation of British ceramicists.

Billy Cave, a graduate of Leeds College of Art and West Dean College, was among the intake and has now been awarded funding from the BADA Friends.

“By helping to fund Billy Cave’s tuition at Clay College, BADA Friends have a rare opportunity to contribute to the development of a very promising and gifted young artist,” said BADA Friends director Anne Green.

In the past the organisation has also donated cultural items to museums and provided financial support of restoration and conservation courses at West Dean, which is near Chichester in West Sussex.
