Christie’s Paris rooms are holding their second sale of the year devoted to Comics and Illustrations on November 19. It will feature artwork by the likes of Hergé, (Tintin); Albert Uderzo ( Astérix) and Peyo (The Smurfs) but, prior to the auction, they will also be bringing a taste to London.
From October 4-12 a selection of 40 highlights from the sale will be on display at their South Kensington rooms before they move on to another six-day preview in Amsterdam .
For the first time Christie’s are also devoting a section of the auction to work by a contemporary artist, Pierre Gibrat, who will be present in London and Amsterdam to discuss his work.
