A graduate of the Courtauld Institute of Art, Frances (right) joins ATG from the Ecclesiastical Insurance Group, where she has been a fine art and heritage underwriter for the past three years.

Her journalism experience includes a regular column in Galleries magazine. Before working at Ecclesiastical, Frances was a curatorial assistant at the V&A.

Frances will cover both dealer and auction house sides of the industry and replaces Anna Brady, who has become a freelance journalist for titles including ATG.

Noelle McElhatton, editor of ATG, said: “What impressed us was Frances’ understanding of, and enthusiasm for, the art and antiques business. I’m really looking forward to working with her to develop our coverage of both trade and auction sectors, ensuring we remain the first port of call for art market news, analysis and opinion.”

A native of Georgia, USA, with dual American and British citizenship, Frances gained a BA in art history and music at Emory University in Atlanta before moving to London.
